Why the renovation?
Most of our buildings are in a very poor condition because they
were never completed. We received an initial grant of $ 7,000
from the Baptist Community, but unfortunately, when the administration
leaders refused to become “born again Baptists,” the funding ended,
leaving the buildings unfinished.
Unfortunately, the cement floor was never poured, leaving the
bare-footed students subject to frequent attacks by jiggers,(
small worms that burrow into the flesh of the foot to lay their
eggs). In addition, the un-cemented dirt floors cause dust allergies,
and are very difficult to keep clean. During the rainy season,
many sections of the floor are mud puddles that are very unsanitary.
